Haptic Operational Planning based on digitized 3D-data is the modern way of preparing intricate interventions. Even with digital planning rapidly evolving, haptic planning on a printed model is the real equivalent to manual operation to be prepared for, making preparation more efficient. What you need are realistic models. For our Boneplan® models, we take care to realize the actual anatomy, correcting artefacts and considering important landmarks. To give a realistic feel, we use a gypsum-based material that feels and behaves similar to live bone, much the contrary to pure plastic models.
With the Boneplan® system we offer to you:
- Conversion of CT and MRT data into an STL-model with scientific artefact corrections and, if necessary, reconstruction of the correct anatomy (also as pure digital service)
- Printed gypsum-based operational planning models with realistic haptic behavior (e.g. no slivering as with acrylic models)
- Creation of splints and gauges, construction of implants

Conversion of CT-Data and virtual model construction:
Using high-level specialized image conversion software, we apply or special image-correction scheme to correct for artifacts and avoid false holes in our bone models, without removing anatomically correct channels or landmarks. In skulls, orbital cavity is correctly closed, the nasal bones are all realized (e.g. the conchae nasalis), and the often fragmented sphenoid bone is completely reconstructed. Boneplan® keeps the promise for anatomically correct models and removal of artifacts.
